Robotic welding

MIG and laser welding cells built around a cobot, from a rolling cart to an overhead gantry.

4 configurations

Robotic welding

Cobot welding is not an industrial robot in a cage: it is a cell you program by showing it the seam, and it can work next to the welder. The four configurations go from small to large: mobile cart, fixed table, three-meter rail and gantry. All of them are programmed with the Smart Tool and carry a wrist torque sensor to hold torch standoff.

Rolling cell

01

Rolling cell

A compact cell on a cart, with onboard power and cable management. The magnetic base lets you set the robot on a table, a jig or the part's own chassis without bolting anything down. The FR5's six-axis precision and the laser's clean, low-spatter welds give consistent seams on thin sheet.

Configuration

Robot
Fairino FR5 cobot, six axes.
Power source
Everlast 1500 W laser or Everlast 503DPI MIG welder.
Mounting
Custom cart with onboard power, cable management and a magnetic base to reposition without bolting.
Programming
Smart Tool: one-button path capture, in minutes.
Control
Wrist torque sensor for real-time force control: accurate torch standoff and smooth corner transitions.

Best for: Prototypes, short runs and on-site repair.

Shop table

02

Shop table

A fixed cell on a welding table with drawers, integrated power and a custom jig that locks the part. The MIG's stable arc and the jig make the second part come out like the first, which is where the time is won in everyday work.

Configuration

Robot
Fairino FR5 cobot, six axes.
Power source
Everlast 1500 W laser or Everlast 503DPI MIG welder.
Mounting
Welding table with drawers, integrated power and cable management, plus a custom jig for repeatable setups.
Programming
Smart Tool: one-button path capture, in minutes.
Control
Wrist torque sensor for real-time force control, less rework.

Best for: Everyday fab work in small and mid-size shops.

3-meter rail

03

3-meter rail

The cobot rides a motorized three-meter seventh axis, so it reaches parts that do not fit on a table. Two jigs and two tables let the operator load one while the robot welds the other.

Configuration

Robot
Fairino FR10 cobot on a motorized 3 m seventh axis.
Power source
Everlast 1500 W laser or Everlast 503DPI MIG welder.
Mounting
Two custom jigs and two welding tables, with tidy cable management.
Programming
Smart Tool: one-button path capture, in minutes.
Control
Wrist torque sensor for accurate standoff and smooth corner transitions.

Best for: Long parts, large frames and repeatable volume.

3 × 3 m gantry

04

3 × 3 m gantry

The FR20 hangs from an over-the-top gantry with a motorized seventh axis and works the part from above. This is the configuration for tall or wide assemblies, where the problem is not payload but reaching the seam.

Configuration

Robot
Fairino FR20 cobot on an over-the-top gantry with motorized seventh axis, 3 × 3 m.
Power source
Everlast 1500 W laser or Everlast 503DPI MIG welder.
Mounting
Two custom jigs and welding tables, with tidy cable management.
Programming
Smart Tool: one-button path capture, in minutes.
Control
Wrist torque sensor: less spatter and less rework.

Best for: Oversized fabrications and high-mix production where overhead reach matters.

Compatible cobots:FR20
